Detailed description
The Original Ye Zhi Xin Black Tea originates from Pu'an County, Guizhou Province. Its predecessor is the "Funiang Tea," a traditional tea passed down through millennia. The ancient tea-making techniques date back to the Ming Dynasty, boasting a history of over 600 years. Pu'an County is renowned as the "Home of Ancient Tea Trees," the "Cultural Hub of Tea," one of the "Top Ten Charming Tea Towns in China," and the permanent site for the first-ever harvest of "Guizhou Green Tea." Additionally, the county is home to a 2-million-year-old fossilized four-ball ancient tea seed, highlighting its unique geographical conditions that have laid a solid foundation for the development of Pu'an Red Tea.
Pu'an's tea production can be traced back to the Yelang period—or even earlier. The ancestors of the Buyi ethnic group, a long-established minority community in this region, were the Pu people, who chose to settle near tea-growing areas. Legend has it that their female spiritual leader, "Fu Niang," was the first to discover tea and use it to heal her people. From then on, the traditions of cultivating, harvesting, processing, and utilizing tea have been passed down through generations, thriving continuously for thousands of years. As early as the 1950s and 1960s, Pu'an began large-scale tea cultivation, and by the 1980s, it had established a tea plantation spanning over 10,000 mu. At one point, it became one of Guizhou's earliest bases for exporting black tea.
