Detailed description
Charm Time Black Tea originates from Pu'an County, Guizhou Province. Its predecessor is the millennium-old "Funiang Tea," whose traditional tea-making techniques can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty, boasting a history of over 600 years. Pu'an County is renowned as the "Home of Ancient Tea Trees," the "Cultural Hub of Tea," one of the "Top Ten Charming Tea Towns in China," and the permanent site for the first-ever harvest of "Guizhou Green Tea." The county also holds a 2-million-year-old fossil of a four-ball ancient tea seed, while its unique geographical conditions have laid a solid foundation for the development of Pu'an Red Tea.
Pu'an's tea production can be traced back to the Yelang period—or even earlier. The ancestors of the Buyi ethnic group, a long-established minority community in this region, were the Pu people, who chose to settle near tea plants. Legend has it that "Funiang," their revered female spiritual leader, was the first to discover tea and use it to heal her people. From then on, the tradition of cultivating, harvesting, processing, and utilizing tea has been passed down through generations, thriving continuously for thousands of years. As early as the 1950s and 1960s, Pu'an initiated large-scale tea cultivation, and by the 1980s, it had already established a tea plantation spanning over 10,000 mu. At one point, Pu'an became one of Guizhou Province's earliest bases for exporting black tea.
